The story
About this product
Locally known as Guchchi Chyau, these black morel mushrooms are gathered from the high mountain forests of Humla, Nepal. A seasonal forest ingredient, they are valued for their distinctive honeycomb texture and rich, earthy flavour with nutty notes. Dried for preservation, they bring depth to Nepali-style curries, pulao, soups, broths and creamy sauces. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and moisture.
How to use
In the kitchen
Gently clean the dried morels to remove loose debris. Soak in warm water for 20–30 minutes until soft, split lengthwise and rinse carefully to remove grit. Cook thoroughly before serving. Never eat raw or undercooked; soaking alone is not sufficient.
